new year, new project

It’s been almost a year since I’ve touched this blog…  I’ve been thinking about what to do with this little piece of webspace for quite some time now and I have come to a decision!

Welcome to the sandbox…  dorky name, I know.  🙂  Anyway, I’ve given myself a bunch of projects to complete in 2011, so I’m going to use this space to share what I’m working on.  Hopefully, forcing myself to post something on a regular basis will help me be more diligent.  I’ve got some random projects on my list, such as making at least one serious metalworking piece, writing some music to put together a short CD of original works and covers, sewing a stuffed animal, play at least one live show, etc.  Who knows if I’ll actually be able to do all of these things?  If anything, I sure will try.

Here’s to new adventures!  Cheers!

Day 30

The last day of my 30-day experiment.  It’s been a lot of fun!  Thanks for sticking with me through the past few weeks.  I think I’ll take a little break so I can put together a little portfolio of the many, many photos I took, loved, but never posted.  There are a lot of photos to sift through.  When I’m ready, I’ll post a link to a flickr account (or something).  Maybe later on, I’ll start the project anew, but maybe with some new twists added in.  If you’ve got any ideas, let me know!

Until next time…

too much fun

so many toys!  there is so much fun to be had, milo.  🙂  my bedroom floor has become my baby’s playground.

Day 28

Believe it or not, 28 days have passed.  I’ve been debating whether or not I should continue my experiment beyond 30 days.  I’m really glad I made it through most of the month successfully.  It’s been encouraging to look at my surroundings in a different light and I’ve amassed a pretty decent collection of photos beyond what I’ve posted.  Do I feel like all the photos I’ve posted are great?  Not really.  I have my favorites.  I’ve also been able to see some trends in what I like to photograph.  As an exercise, I feel it’s been worthwhile.  I just need to think some more about whether or not it’s worth continuing on.

Anyway, here is the picture for the 28th day…

Sunlight, how I love you.

thai bowl

Dinner with a pal of mine…  Jade noodles with chicken and duck pad thai.  Thai Bowl is tasty.  You should go there.

One is called the anti-ninja.  The other is called ninja dropping.  I’ll let you figure out which one is which…

There’s always something really special about being back at home.  Not because of the food (although, I definitely miss good Korean food) and not even because it’s familiar surroundings…  Home is special because I know there are people there I can count on, who know my good and bad traits, and it’s all still okay.  Those types of relationships are rare in life and as time goes on, I see how precious it really is.  But enough nostalgia.

I got to introduce the family to my little Milo and I think everyone had a good time.

Here’s the photo of the day…

Dad and Ollie are checking out the Korean newspaper while Milo is zooming in on a headline…

puppy at work

My little Milo is hard at work on this rawhide bone.  It’s one of his favorite things to chew on!  I took him to the vet today and he got a clean bill of health.  He also got plenty of compliments on how cute he is.  🙂  He’s a ham, I tell ya…

I also went to the Muse concert tonight and I’m totally kicking myself because I didn’t sneak my camera in…  everyone else did.  Needless to say, there were a lot of shots I wish I could have taken tonight, especially the aftermath.  By the way, the concert was fantastic.  Truthfully, towards the ends of concerts, I start to get a little bored and my mind starts thinking about how I’d like to go home and sleep, but this was a rare exception.  I enjoyed every song and the 2+ hours flew by.  Man.
