a mighty fine meal

The mission:  wander the grocery store and figure out dinner.  The items:  kale, butternut squash, crimini mushrooms, kalamata olive bread, parmesan cheese, blueberries, dessert shells, whipping cream, and a shiraz.  We were hungry…

The outcome was pure deliciousness…

Here is Kim, my partner in crime for the evening…  we shall have many more cooking adventures!

All over the place

It’s so wonderful to have a day off in the middle of the week!  Been a busy little bee today and worked on a bunch of different things…  I handmade two pairs of hoops for a co-worker and they turned out pretty nicely, I think.

Also, just messed around with Logic and put together a little sound byte…  I have no idea what this snippet will evolve into, but that’s all for now.  I went back into the archives and dug up some chord progressions that sounded cool.  Hopefully those will grow into some actual tunes too.  But anyway, here’s my snippet from today…

*edit* uhhh, apparently, I can’t upload audio to this site, so…  until I find a place to host some audio, the snippet will have to wait.  Just in case you’re wondering, it brings the funk.

new year, new project

It’s been almost a year since I’ve touched this blog…  I’ve been thinking about what to do with this little piece of webspace for quite some time now and I have come to a decision!

Welcome to the sandbox…  dorky name, I know.  🙂  Anyway, I’ve given myself a bunch of projects to complete in 2011, so I’m going to use this space to share what I’m working on.  Hopefully, forcing myself to post something on a regular basis will help me be more diligent.  I’ve got some random projects on my list, such as making at least one serious metalworking piece, writing some music to put together a short CD of original works and covers, sewing a stuffed animal, play at least one live show, etc.  Who knows if I’ll actually be able to do all of these things?  If anything, I sure will try.

Here’s to new adventures!  Cheers!
